I felt like I needed to update my previous post. Well, we didn’t move. Our house never sold, but even more frustrating was the other house that we had a closing date on. The inspections we had on the house were not great, so we made some amendments to our original offer, and actually mad a full price offer if those issues were taken care of. Sadly, they fixed the problems and didn’t take our full price offer. If you’re like me, a rationally thinking person, you are probably thinking, “Well that doesn’t sound right.” No, it doesn’t, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
So now, we have lowered the price of our house, and we have a junk load of people who want to buy it now. Murphy’s Law in full effect.
So, we are taking our house off the market for the time being, but it appears as if God is opening some very interesting and new doors for us.
You know, we were praying for patience and wisdom with this whole house thing, and I am so glad that we were. It made me much more cognizant of my approach to such a big decision. Every step we took, and gaping hole that seemed to be in the way eased my anxiety instead of ratcheting it up a notch. Yes, there were times I got frustrated with different situations, but on a whole I felt very at ease with what was going down. That’s right…peace with the situation…frustrated with people.
In the midst of all of this, we had a kid, started packing our kitchen, and I had a science fair (which I never want to do again). We are still eating off of Christmas dishes in February.
God has been so good to me, and reminds me of his blessings every evening when I come home from work. As I walk in the door, KJ comes barreling around the corner screaming, “DADDY, YOUR HOME!” If that isn’t the best way to walk into a house, I don’t know what is.
Needless to say, the house thing doesn’t bother me anymore. I’m just excited to see what God has in store for us this Spring, after a crazy winter.
Stay tuned…
